If this is brand redemption, then this new spot from BrewDog might have done its job. It feels like a reset to put the voice of the people back in the brand. It sounds honest and the imagery mirrors real life in a relevant way. That’s the power of advertising to re-shape perceptions.
We don’t know if the recent backlash has affected sales and significantly eroded brand equity….have drinkers especially younger millennials voted with their wallets? We do know that highly trusted brands are 7x more likely to be purchased according to an Edelman survey.
In general, we believe in second chances to make good, or better. What concrete actions have BrewDog taken to address diversity & inclusivity with their employees and customers? Otherwise, it’s another example of #greenwashing. Or in this case, false advertising.
