85% of consumers don’t know chewing gum contains plastic.
Did you know that chewing gum is a single use plastic?
We didn’t, but it does.
Each piece of gum contains as much plastic as a drinking straw, so it’s great to see a British business doing something about it.
Nuud was founded in the UK by Keir Carnie and is a plant based chewing gum. They were rejected by the Dragons on BBC’s Dragons Den and have since gone on to secure £750K investment from Jamie Laing’s Candy Kittens earlier this month.
They started their journey in Waitrose and within 6 months had sold £100K of plant based chewing gum.
We are inspired by their solution fixing single use plastic.
If you haven’t heard of them take a look and buy their gum, now also available in the UK in Co-op as of this week!
